Survey: Would you pay for an ad-free version of DragoSim - Your opinion wanted!

Dear DragoSim users,

It took me a reasonable amount of time and money to develop DragoSim and keep it running. Meanwhile it costs me more than I get from the ads.

To keep it running I ask you how to proceed. I have the idea to make a second version that is ad-free which users had to pay a small amount for.

Please let me know if you would use such a service and how much you are willing to pay for it. I think, the paid version could run with higher priority, too, meaning that your simulations might become faster (depending on the server's load).

Please tell me your opinion! And remember this is just a survey and not an announcement.

P.S. Please don't propose me to host DragoSim on your server or similar suggestions. That's not what I'm asking for and not what I'm going to do anyway.

Depends of the cost, obviously, but 3€ should be fine for 4 month of use. Nice work Anyway.

I wouldn't pay for that.  Sorry.  I also think it's fine work.  Maybe you could add some more ads?  I use Spanish version and adds are not in Spanish but German.  I don't know anything about it, but maybe you could change ads for each language's version?  Possibly they would pay the same as aimed public does not diminish for making different language versions.  It's an idea, but i insist i don't know anything about it, hope it's not a completely foolish thing.

Yes, I would pay but only if you add  features like copy-past spy-report to auto-fill all fields (techs, defense, fleet, resources). Better auto-save with named slots, etc.

If you would also add "auto-calculate best attacking fleet" for a given defense it would be great :-)

You are making a good job, but i using your service because is free.

I,m playing to ogame because is free.

I only pay for things than use for my job.

I understand your point of view, but my opion is you have take two versions: one free and another for money.

First, i would like to apologize for my english...i m french and i don't practice a lot...!?!
I think that dragosim is a real part of the game...you have made a very nice job...congratulations...
As "OGame", you can put more options for people who can pay but for the most part of players, it have to stay free...
It's very important to have this tool for playing OGame and i think that a lot of players may stop if dragosim become paying...!?!
OGame is free...that's cool for us...but they have too much publicities on their server and some times, it's hard to play...i think that the best thing to do is to put more options for players who play but not had a lot of publicities...!?!

One more time, thanks for your job...it's an exellent tool...!?!

Hi!
If you offer a service for free, then you have no legal duty with you customers.
If I pay for dragosim (doesn't matter what price), then I will expect a professional service (good speed, good availability, no ads, new features often implemented, fast bug fixes, e-mail support, ...)

For a "professional" dragosim i will pay up to 2€ / month.

That's my point of view.

While you provide a very nice service  it hardly reaches the level of complexity of something I would consider paying for. Even I have programed more complicated things...

Surely someone  would soon develop a free alternative, either a website or a downloadable program with identical or superior features.

I am just stating facts. However don't take me the rong way, I praise the work you have made so far.

Go ahead and offer a pay alternative!
I think you deserve the income and
some people would be more than happy to pay a little.
But please leave the free alternative, with ads,
so anyone who wants to keep using your work the way it is can do that.
Offering a pay alternative, adds an option, it doesn't take anything away.
Go for it!
I am unlikely to pay, but would consider it,
if there was a simple once off charge, not a monthly fee.
What would I pay? Hmmm, maybe US$5 once off and forever,
would NOT ever pay US$1.49 per 3 months or whatever.
