PocketCAS 1.4.0 "Skin Edition" released!

Hi guys,

I have just released PocketCAS 1.4.0 Skin Edition!

Have a look at the changelog:

Version 1.4.0 Skin Edition - 7.7.2009

    * Skin support: see Screenshots section for details.
    * For keyboard devices: Pressing Ctrl+Enter now starts the calculation, too.
    * After calculating, the keyboard will only hide if necessary. The results panel will scroll so that the bottom off the selected element is the same height as the top of the Keyboard.
    * Improved overall speed and snappiness.
    * Fixed: Memory leak when switching landscape/portrait mode. This is also a lot faster now.
    * Fixed: clicking image buttons now triggers as often as other buttons.

But please amend details in Download section accordingly!

In download section, please change "1.3.0" to "1.4.0".
I've just installed and checked. So nice skin, MrMage!
A stupid question: Can your CAS now handle scripts?

Regarding script support: I suppose not. But if you provide me with some example scripts that run in xcas, I might see what I can do.

As for the output image size, I have to change "tex_size" section in file "Settings.xml".
Why not stick this option somewhere in menu system?

Oh, sometimes we need the output image to be bigger or smaller.
I think it will be more convenient if you put "large/huge" somewhere in the menu.

If you need that, I might add it to 1.4.1 or something. Which sizes do you wish apart from large and huge?

I need something like Small/Medium/Big combining with Large and/or Huge. That depends on your decision.
As for text size on input frame, I think it is quite small. Can we change text size?
In future perhaps I will use some PPC with VGA screen to have the advantage of large screen.

Hi MrMage,
I am very happy to use your phantastic PocketCAS and to really do mathematics on the go. The program becomes better and better and now, with skinning, it looks very nice. So far I use an E-ten M800 phone with VGA display, but the new HTC devices with large WVGA sreen seem to be a real improvement. Does PocketCAS support WVGA screens or it is planned ? Greetings Christian

WVGA support is already available. It's essentially the same as VGA but with a slightly bigger keyboard and more space for calculations.

iPhone support is also planned, by the way.
