Problem with Laplace transform function
« on: June 27, 2010, 02:07:01 PM »
All the functions I have tried on Pocket CAS for the Ipad seem fine, except for the Laplace transform.
I have tried Laplace transforming several functions, including the two examples given in the description of the "laplace" function (laplace (exp(x*sin(x)) and laplace(sin(x)^2,x,s).
I always seem to get the response  "Undef/Unsigned Inf encountered in limit Error: Bad Argument Value".
I get the same response if I use an integral to calculate the Laplace transform of simple functions like x^2 or sin(x).

The inverse Laplace transform works perfectly well.
Can anyone tell me if they have the same problem please ?
Thanks

Hi,

I could reproduce the issue. I will try to provide a fix in the next version.

Cheers

Hi Daniel

Just to say how impressed I am with the speed of your response - not many of us are talking about mathematics on a Sunday afternoon !
Thanks - I shall certainly leave an encouraging comment on the App Store about Pocket CAS, and the support you provide.

This issue will be fixed in the next release of PocketCAS.
